K10D is also equipped with dust-reduction mechanism, similar to recent cameras. It uses Super Protect Coated made with nano technology. So collection of any dust on the sensor is prevented.
Pentax has informed us that all 2007 model new lenses will have the same SP-coating.
Different companies came up with different solutions for protection of cameras from external physical shocks. Instead of magnesium or metal-alloy supported body, Pentax had chosen to use titanium supported hardened-plastic body
Due to poly carbon hardened plastic body coating, water and dust sealing is achieved.
