  • Eshâb-ı Kehf in yaşadığı mahal olarak gösterilen şehirlerden en çok üzerinde durulan yer Tarsus'dur. Gerçekten Tarsus'un kuzeybatısında Encilüs veya Bencilüs denilen dağda bütün tariflere uyan bir Eshâb-ı Kehf mağarası bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca aşağıda zikredileceği üzere, İslâm Tarihi ile ilgili kitabların ve müfessirlerin neredeyse tamamına yakını, Eshâb-ı Kehf in yaşadığı şehir olarak Tarsus'u ve uyudukları mağara olarak da Tarsus'a iki saat uzaklıktaki mağarayı göstermektedirler.
